Grateful for YOU 💟

  • I love this space. I’ve done Breathwork and a few yoga classes here. The vibe is comfortable and inviting. The space already encourages retrospection and serenity, and the staff take it to another level. Breathwork with Catarina is transformative and safe. Yoga here has been nothing short of amazing. I had the pleasure to take classes with Chris, Sydney, Nick and Stephanie so far. All have offered unique classes and heart felt guidance. This is real yoga, no goats. As a yoga teacher myself, I appreciate the skills and energy these teachers offer. There are two practice areas and a meditation room. I’m excited to try the sound healing, and can’t wait to see what else they add to the offering. Jai Bhagwan

  • The Hall of Self/Catarina's practice is a welcome addition to our growing neighborhood. I am so thrilled to have a local studio with so many mind/body balance, healing and self care options. The space itself is both absolutely stunning (a renovated church complete with stained glass windows) and also incredibly calming. Catarina exudes kindness and you immediately feel welcomed. I attended a group breathwork experience and can't recommend attending a session enough. The experience is hard to describe but that's what makes Catarina so great, she'll guide you and explain everything. I have anxiety and felt very open and at ease during Catarina's session thanks to her debrief and encouragement. It surpassed my expectations both physically and emotionally. I'm very much looking forward to not only another Breathwork experience but trying the many other offerings at The Hall of Self. My session was a wonderful reminder of why trying new things can be so rewarding!

  • I've taken a bunch of different classes here, and every single one has been amazing. I went to my first breathwork class on Sunday, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. Catarina was so thoughtful in explaining what breathwork is, what we might feel physically or emotionally, and really made sure we felt supported throughout. She also gave us space to share afterward, which made the whole experience even more meaningful. I highly recommend this space and her classes.

  • People! Our own Patterson Park neighborhood yoga space here, and it's not contingent upon weather! The space in this converted church is stunning. The mats and props are high quality, the classes are small and the instructors are great. Please join us!

  • Catarina is a kind and generous teacher who offers intuitive and personalized guidance to her students. The studio is a beautiful reimagining of a neighborhood church and offers many different types of classes in several different rooms which accommodate all types of practices. She also offers a trial week for $30 so that one can try out multiple classes, whether that be yoga, Pilates, breathwork, or a gentle sound bath in a serene setting. I definitely also recommend Mike’s classes on Monday and Wednesday nights for a challenging but gentle flow.

  • I had a wonderful massage with Vance at The Hall of Self. He was knowledgeable, skilled, and took the time to talk through my unique needs and preferences. At the end he even offered suggestions of stretches and exercises to help address the recurrent areas of tension, which was helpful.

  • Had a great session with Mike! Nice, even pace, a very good slow warm up for the body. If you need or want gentle yoga, this is a great class! Mike was friendly, sprinkled some humor throughout the class, and gave equal time and attention to the warm up, mid session, and the cool down. The best bit was the reading he gave at the end. I love hearing something and seeing how it applies to your own life! Great session!

  • Venue I’ve been attending Naomi’s class for about six weeks, she’s an amazing instructor and a fabulous person. Her guidance and outlook are so healthy, mindful, and full of kindness for ourselves and others. Her instruction allows everyone to engage in whatever way suits them best… so while I would recommend her class to anyone, it’s extra great for those who are new to yoga, out of practice, or are facing any kind of uncertainty or anxiety on or off the mat. It’s gentle in the right ways and challenging in the right ways. She reminds to let go of anything that no longer serves us and I always leave feeling renewed balance and clarity, physically and mentally.

  • This is one of the best locations to practice yoga, breathing, and reflection. The church decor and stained windows are breathtaking. I could spend an entire day with a cup of tea and a great read here. You should! Come for the yoga and stay for the ambiance. Mike B., the instructor for my yoga class, was supported and lighthearted. My pictures prob will not convey how special this space truly is.

  • Danielle is a fabulous instructor! She is warm and welcoming, and her classes are always well-paced. She offers plenty of modifications for each movement so beginners and more advanced participants can feel comfortable working at their own pace. And her music/playlists are always fantastic!
